With the European elections approaching, and strong feelings about Brexit in the air, Citizens:mk wants to promote dialogue and trust between MK people who have opposing views by organising a special ‘Weaving Trust’ event one week before the Election. It will be an opportunity to listen to each other and build relationships at a time of division and conflict.
The aim is to attract 20 participants who each bring to the event one person who voted opposite to the way they did in the 2016 EU Referendum. The event will be open only to people who are accompanied by someone who voted the other way, and who are both labelled accordingly.
At the event, participants will be asked to take up positions in two circles of facing chairs around the cloisters, Leave facing Remain voters, and have a series of short conversations about their current thoughts and feelings about living in MK.
